Wednesday 26th: Today we will discuss the Monarchy and Hereditary Succession section with a few review questions at the do now, and then you will have the other half of class to begin reading the next section, pages 97-109 on the Thoughts of the present state of American Affairs. Thursday 3rd: Begin reading aloud Plato's Republic Book 1. You will each get your own paper copy so you can follow along and take notes, but I will not be posting the PDF for copyright purposes :)
Wednesday 2nd: The first half of class we will hold a class meeting to check in with our rules, rights, rewards, and consequences and make any necessary adjustments. Then we will read a summary of Plato's Republic book 1 as a class in preparation for the actual text.

Tuesday 1st: Today we will finish the Ring of Gyges discussion and then I will give you time to work in your social issues groups and review the comments I made on your rough drafts. Please split up the editing work and plan to implement your research in the next couple weeks!

Monday 30th: We will start the Ring of Gyges reading and discussion to solidify Plato's ideas in our mind before we move on to the Republic. The handout will not be online, you must have the paper copy I gave you in class for this!

Friday 27th: We will work on a group quotation exercise!
Thursday 26th: Social Issues Study title page, abstract, lit review, methodology, and reference page rough drafts due today in my email inbox or printed and handed in by class time. You must have emailed it to me by 5th period for it to be on time. We will finish our notes on the Greek philosophers and then watch the following clip for review:
Wednesday 25th: We will watch the last APA format YouTube clip.
We will then begin our notes and discussion on Plato and Aristotle and watch a quick Youtube clip to summarize what you read if we have time. Don't forget about the social issue assignment that is due on THURSDAY!

Thursday 19th: Today we will discuss what you already might know about Ancient Greek politics and philosophers and your thoughts on the homework article. After that we will begin reading the introduction to Greek Politics article and take notes. Your homework for the weekend is finish reading the article and answer the questions at the end. You should also be working on your social issues studies abstract, lit. review, methodology, and reference page--due next week Thursday the 26th.
Also study for your quiz on Monday- which will be on your 3 worksheets on government, Hobbes vs. Locke, and sovereignty.

Wednesday 11th: Today we will begin a lesson on the sovereign state.
Tuesday 10th: Today we will finish up our typing of our class rules and decide meeting times for our class Parliament throughout the year, and create positions if you want! Then we will begin to discuss government- and two main theorists' ideas on why it exists and how it should function.
